Inspirations
One of the most important jobs in Woman's Club is that of the "Inspirational Chairwoman." Her job is to start each of our meetings with words that inspire, educate, and uplift us all. Included on the page below are some of the most memorable, contributed by some of our most inspirational members. We hope you enjoy reading them as much as we enjoyed hearing them at our meetings.

Plain Talk by J.K. Nilkinson Submitted by Mary Ball
Many years ago some sage said, "To err is human and all the animals of humanity are proof of it." If we were incapable of making errorrs, we wouldn't be here on the Good Old Earth; the world is a kindergarten of Improvement.
We learn wisdom from failure more frequently than from success, the chemist learns successful compounds only after many experiments; the capacity for profiting from blunders is inseparable from the capacity for achievement.
Exemption from errors is not the privelege of mortals, but when mistakes are involuntary, we owe each other every candid consideration and the successful man in business or in government is he, who not only profits from his errors, but by his example reduces the errors of his associates to a minimum.
The mistakes of the past become the seeds from which grow the Wisdom-trees of the future.

Thankfulness
I am thankful for... The mess to clean up after a party because it means I have been surrounded by friends The taxes I pay ecause it means I am employed. The clothes that fit a little too snug because it means I have enough to eat. My shadow who watches me work because it means I am out in the sunshine. The spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking. All the complaining I hear about our government because it means we have freedom of speech. The lady behind me in churh who sings off key because it means I can hear. The lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and the gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home. My huge heating bill because it means that I am warm. Weariness and aching muscles becuase it means I have been productive. The alarm that goes off in the early morning because it means I am alive.

The Price of a Smile
A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. No one is so rich or mighty that he can get along without it, and no one is so poor but that he can be made rich by it. A smile creates happiness in the home, fosters good will in business, and is the countersign of frienship. It brings rest to the weary, cheer to the discouraged, sunshine to the sad, and is nature's best antidote for trouble. Yet it cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give a smile. Give them one of yours, as no one needs a smile so much as he who has none to give. - Author Unknown

The Forgetter Author Unknown
My fogetter's getting better, But my rememberer is broke To you that may seem funny But to me that is no joke.
For when I'm here I'm wondering If I really should be there And when I try to think it through I haven't got a prayer.
Oft times I walk into a room Say what am I here for I wrack my brain but all in vain A zero is my score.
At times I put something away Where it is safe but gee The person it is safest from Is almost always me!
When shopping I may see someone Say Hi and have a chat Then when the person walks away I ask myself, who was that?
Yes my forgetter's getting better While my rememberer is broke And it's driving me plumb crazy And that is not a joke!
