Floretta Lauber
Floretta Lauber has been a major player in Arcadia for 35 years. From when the city council appointed her to the San Gabriel Valley Planning Commission to her eventual term as our first woman mayor, she has been a leader and a spark for cooperation and invention.
Floretta helped save the Arcadia Woman's Club house by negotiating with the mortgage lender. For many years, she has been the ways and means chairwoman, raising thousands of dollars for community donations. And, as President, Floretta ensured that the club was recognized at the state and national levels.
Foretta has also been active in the Arcadia Historical Society where her leadership resulted in many innovations. She has served as Vice President of the Coordinating Council and is now a member of the Museum Commission.
As an honorary member of Arcadia's Altrusa International Club, she participates in all fund raising activities. Floretta is a true Arcadia heroine, contributing her time, vitality, and vision to the growth of this city.
