Mary (Mickey) Ball
Mary Ball, known to all her friends and colleagues as "Mickey," is one of Arcadia's most generous citizens, giving her time and energy to a variety of organizations including Altrusa International, The Arcadia Historical Society, The California Retired Teachers Association, The Arcadia Historical Museum, and The Woman's Club of Arcadia. She is the recipient of the Outstanding Volunteer of the Year award from the City of Arcadia, and has been honored many times by both the city and the organizations she belongs to for her dedication.
Mickey was quite an athlete in college (she majored in Health and Physical Education at Penn State), and was particularly skilled at diving.
Her other hobbies include writing poetry (see samples below), reading, and doing crossword puzzles, which she says keep her mind sharp.
