Our Work
One of the primary goals of the woman's club is to be of service to the community. With this in mind, we conduct a variety of programs and participate in activities that help us reach that goal. These include:
Domestic Violence Action Coalition: We work with and support the efforts of DVAC to protect women who are victims of domestic violence. The group also offers education about domestic violence and facilitates a forum to pursue changes to the criminal justice system.
Arcadia Welfare Referrals: We offer help to families, seniors, and others in need of food.
Twin Braille: Every month we collect books for this worthwhile organization, which helps children learn to read braille with their parents.
Natural Disaster Relief: The club regularly donates funds to relief organizations assisting those in need after a natural disaster has struck.
Food Donation: The club collects food and donates food to the Thrift and Welfare during the holidays.
Police and Firemen's Luncheon: In appreciation of their efforts to keep our community safe, the Woman's Club has been hosting an annual luncheon in honor of the men and women in these two organizations for 25 years.
Fundraisers: As part of our fund raising efforts, the Woman's Club hosts special, themed dinners, such as a Jazz Night and Mariachis and Margaritas Night, in its lovely gardens and ballroom. It also holds seasonal fashion shows.
Pennies for Pines: Each month we collect money to be donated to help the reforestation of wilderness areas that have been devastated by fires.
